If you drive or haul an RV longer than 32 feet, then many campgrounds cannot accommodate your rig. After a long day of driving, it's no fun to learn that the park you selected can't squeeze you in either because of your rig's length or its multiple slideouts.

Thirteen years ago, full-time RVers Ken and Ellie Hamill decided it was time to do something to help other owners of large and even medium sized RVs: the result was their Big Rigs Best Bets campground directory, which lists RV parks throughout the 49 states and eight Canadian Provinces that eagerly accept large RVs. Remarkably, every one of the 1,200 + parks listed in the spiral-bound guide has been visited personally by the authors to ensure the information is accurate. The authors write: "Each park listing includes specific site numbers and their respective lengths – the preferred area for you to reserve or ask for at check-in. To make sure you have no surprises or U-turns, we have personally driven the route to the parks."

Specific campsite suggestions are mentioned for most parks. So, you'll know before you arrive which sites to request. Also, if there's good fishing (or restaurants or other attractions) nearby, you'll know about it. The 2013 directory includes Alaska (and the Alaska Highway), plus eight Canadian provinces. There's also information about WiFi at most of the parks as well as diesel stops personally used by the editors. Parks listed range from luxury destination resorts to rustic campgrounds where you can snuggle up with Mother Nature.

Once you receive the 503-page directory, you'll see why the authors are fulltimers. They simply could not produce such a quality and helpful book without living and breathing the lifestyle. Published Jan. 2013. 503 comb-bound pages.
