Join filmmaker John Holod as he travels the 1,060-mile Transpeninsular Baja Highway by motorhome. RVers who are planning a trip to Baja will get a great idea of what to expect and many ideas of what to see and do after viewing this 75-minute video. John’s journey begins in Tijuana and continues on to Ensenada. A side trip leads to San Felipe on the Sea of Cortez, a beach playground for the RV crowd. Sierra National Park looks very much like Northern California and is home to Pico Diablo, the highest mountain in Baja. Then John is off to San Quintin and El Rosario, the home of Mama Espinosa's famous restaurant. Bahia de Los Angeles, one of the most beautiful places on the peninsula, is home to a wide variety of wildlife and provides access to the Midriff Islands and life forms found nowhere else. John continues to Guerrero Negro, famous for salt production and the world's friendliest gray whales. In San Ignacio he tours the mission and enjoys a parade honoring its patron saint. Santa Rosalia's history features mining and French colonial style architecture. Mulege — the oasis in the desert — offers palm trees, dorado fishing and birding. A popular hike leads to nearby cave paintings. RV camping on the beach a few feet from the sea makes many consider Bahia Conception the ultimate Baja destination. Loreto is one of the most pleasant towns in Baja and features a mission museum. A stop in San Carlos allows visitors to explore Magdalena Bay with its mangroves and estuaries. La Paz is noted for an attractive waterfront walkway and some of the best scuba diving on the peninsula. This delightful RV adventure ends in the popular tourist resort of Cabo San Lucas. 75 minutes.
