being transported on trucks. That's because nearly all the other types of vehicles are driven to their dealerships or customers — frequently hundreds or even thousands of miles from the manufacturing sites. Nearly all of the RVs manufactured are driven to their sales location. It takes a large workforce to do this — more than 100,000 drivers in North America alone, working for 3,500 U.S. companies, and 330 companies in Canada. Drivers may choose to work full- or part-time, seasonally, occasionally, or on-call-as-needed. Approximately 40 percent of the driver workforce is comprised of couples and 30 percent are between the ages of 65 and 80, making this a very senior-friendly way to earn an income.
